It feels really nice to go back in time with a good film in a good company. Yesterday we gathered together with the friends to watch a film. At first, my bestie Nan suggested watching something romantic and fun. But others didn't agree on it. Finally, the choice we made suited everyone's taste.
It was a remake film of 2005 about a giant gorilla who was imprisoned in New York in the year of 1933. The action starts as a group of moviemakers travelled to an island where, according to the legend, this incredibly huge creature lived. They faced a lot of troubles there. One of them was the tribe of natives that caught the actress Ann and tied her to a wooden construction. But then the mythic gorilla appeared and saved her. After seeing that, the director decided, whatever it takes, to take the creature to New York to become rich and famous. As the film goes, Ann and the animal developed a very special connection and feeling. They understood each other. The woman really tried to help him, but she couldn't.
So, instead of filming the gorilla in the wild the director made up his mind to set up a play. And there we were … on the stage of a luxury theatre. Now the gorilla was tied in front of another tied actress. The theatre was full of audience. The cameras of the reporters were on. The gorilla was slowly raising his head and suddenly saw the woman who was supposed to be Ann, but she wasn't. He got angry, really angry, and started to crush everything in order to free himself. And so he did. The audience was screaming and running away. The gorilla was destroying everything on his way. The police were trying to stop him with the guns, but he was too strong and too furious. He ran away and found Ann. She thought that she could do something, but she couldn't … Trying to save himself and Ann from the police, he climbed the Empire State Building, the tallest one in New York. He had Ann in his arm, communicating with her through the thoughts. She understood everything: he just wanted to be alive, he didn't want to do any harm. She understood everything but could do nothing. The police were in the air with really big guns. They shot, and shot, and shot. The gorilla made his last steps up, put Ann on the top of the building and fell down. Very tragic … But Ann was safe. And the city was safe, finally.
The atmosphere of the film was very authentic. The American city in the beginning of the 20th century was brilliant. I highly recommend to watch this film in a warm company of friends. We were sad and excited, the feelings were mixed. Oh, and the name of the film is King Kong, by the way.
